On a competitive basis, IEEE ICC 2025 offers a number of grants to students or individuals who are financially limited. Eligible applicants must be registered and co-authored an accepted peer-reviewed paper for the conference. The grants are from IEEE ComSoc, the US National Science Foundation, Women in Communications Engineering (WICE), and IEEE Conference Travel. These grants encourage participation by students or individuals who would normally find it difficult to attend. Women, minorities, individuals from low GDP countries, beginning graduate students, and first time ICC attendees, are especially encouraged to apply. No more than one student or applicant per institution will be supported. Postdocs, faculty, or other senior research personnel may not apply for the grant. These grants will enable sharing scientific information and stimulating research interests for students in the field of communications and networking.
FORMAT OF A GRANT APPLICATION
An application for a grant should be submitted through EDAS. If you are an author of a technical paper, please go to EDAS. If you are an author of a workshop paper, please go to EDAS.
After you have logged into EDAS, select the ICC 2025 Conference Grant to which you want to apply, and then submit the application. The application must include the following materials:
- The applicant’s up-to-date resumé, including citizenship, study level (undergraduate or graduate), and ethnicity and gender (optional, used to broaden the participation of under-represented students).
- For student applicants: A letter from the student including paper title if the paper has been accepted by IEEE ICC. The letter should include the following information. (1) A brief summary of research interests and accomplishments to date (students should demonstrate a serious interest in networking, through their coursework and projects). (2) A statement about why conference attendance is important.
- A recommendation letter from the student’s advisor including the following: (1) confirmation that the student is in good academic standing; (2) the suitability of the IEEE ICC program material to the student’s research area; (3) ways this particular student would benefit from attendance at the conference; (4) the strengths and potential contributions of the student; (5) the application should commit to covering the cost of travel in excess of the travel grants.
For questions or issues, please get in touch with EDAS Help.
